In the Presbyterian form of government, the body of elected leaders - Elders - is known corporately as the Session. At Woodland Presbyterian Church, the Session meets each month on the second Tuesday beginning at 7 pm.
Our Session is comprised of Elders who oversee and provide leadership for the following Session Program Committees:
Christian Education –Teri Jeffress, Chair; Cliff Campbell
Meets First Sunday, 11:30 a.m.
Directs the educational ministry of WPC, including Sunday School. the summer program, youth fellowships, Junior Church, Bible studies, and relates to groups such as Joyspring.
Clerk of Session—Ruth Wendt
Takes minutes, keeps records, and does correspondence for Session.
Membership Care—Goni Laseke, Chair; Bob West
Meets First Wednesday, 4:30 p.m.
Has general oversight of our congregational care ministries, visitor calling, new member seminars, nursery, coffee chapel, W(h)im, and small group ministries.
Mission Outreach—Rodger Wilson, Chair; Dirk Muyskens
Meets fourth Tuesday, 6:30 p.m.
Directs the mission interpretation and outreach ministry of our church, including community outreach and evangelism, special offerings such as One Great Hour of Sharing and Christmas Joy, recommends to Session the designation of Session Designated Giving monies, keeps us in touch with mission causes.

Meets in JuneMeets with the deacon and congregational representatives to nominate a slate of nominees to the office of ruling Elder, Deacon, and Nominating Committee.
Personnel—John Bohrnsen, Chair; Cliff Campbell, Bill Curry
Meets in needed
Reviews staff performance and salaries annually, and if needed, is available for listening and counseling. Has general oversight of job descriptions, personnel policies, and staff additions.
Stewardship—Jim Wilson, Chair; Bill Curry, Dale Hanley
Meets First or Second Friday, 12 p.m.
Directs our financial program and stewardship campaign, Wills and Memorials Committee, church-use by outside groups, approves the establishment of all Trust and Endowment funds, and has oversight of our vans, property, buildings, rentals, and grounds.

Worship—John Bohrnsen, Chair; Ruth Wendt, Jill Withrow
Meets Last Tuesday, 9 a.m.
Has general oversight of our worship ministry, including choirs, bell choirs, Praise Teams, worship, audio visual system, weddings, sanctuary decoration, ushering, hospitality, special services, communion, and baptism.
The Session also provides oversight to the Board of Deacons. The Pastor of a Presbyterian congregation serves as the Moderator of the Session and is not a voting member.
