Woodland Presbyterian is...
An Intergenerational Church...WPC
was founded in 1888 with 12 charter members. Today our congregation of 200
includes people of all ages, with many of our members coming from a distance.
We love that our unique combination of seniors and young families allows us to
reach out in mission across generations.
A Worship and Music-Centered Church...We
are committed to excellence in both traditional and contemporary forms of
worship. We have a wonderful Chancel Choir and Handbell Choirs and a traditional
reformed worship service. We also have an upbeat contemporary praise band, which
leads worship at the 11:00 a.m. service.
A Bible-Based Church...We
believe that our knowledge of God and God's purpose for us comes directly from
the Bible. In all of our preaching and teaching, we take the words that are
written, help people better understand their meaning, and teach ways these
lessons can be applied to everyday life.
A Hands-On Mission Church...We believe that God is giving in
every way. God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so
that none should perish, but have eternal life. Therefore, as God was and is
with us, we are called to be "sending and giving" people. We use our resources,
financial, material and relational, to bring God's saving news of Jesus Christ
to our neighbors and those around the world.
A Friendly, Accepting and Caring Church...We are committed
to proclaiming Christ’s love and preparing one another to fulfill God’s calling.
We also serve God by knowing and caring for our community and each other.
Woodland Presbyterian is governed at all levels by a combination of clergy and
lay people, men and women alike. We invite you to meet our pastors, staff
members, elders and deacons, all of whom work together to ensure we are serving
the Lord in the best ways possible and growing together as Christians.

As Presbyterians, we believe that God, the
Creator of the universe comes to us
in the person of Jesus Christ as Savior and
Lord. We believe in the present and on-going work of the Holy Spirit in the life
of each believer, in the world, and in His church and believe that God makes
possible the forgiveness of our sins through the sacrificial death of His Son on
the cross and seals it with His resurrection, the “first-fruits” of life
everlasting for all who trust Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
We believe in the church as the body
of Christ, the universal company of His followers. We acknowledge the presence
of the Holy Spirit in each person who trusts Christ as well as in the life of
the church corporate for the carrying out of His commission to bring the whole
gospel to the whole world. We frequently celebrate the presence of God among us
in worship together around the Word and Sacraments.
We believe the Bible to be the
inspired word of God, the only fully authoritative witness to God’s creative and
sustaining power culminating in the life, ministry, death and resurrection of
Jesus Christ. We believe that the Scriptures offer us the most trustworthy
guidance for life and for faith, following the example set by Jesus.
We believe that the church has
spoken throughout history by way of creeds and confessions which express the
beliefs of the church from their perspective in history. These statements are a
credible, secondary authority for the church, under the light and direction of
the Bible and do not rise to the authority of the Scriptures.
We look forward
with all other
Christians to the day that Christ will return, as He promised, to gather his
church to live in worship of God forevermore.
As Presbyterians, we affirm the same
essential beliefs affirmed by true Christian men and women the world over. At
the same time we strongly encourage all the people of our congregation to
wrestle with their understanding of the Christian faith through study,
reflection and worship as members of the body of Christ.
